Dear Friends, I am writing to let you know that, after deep consideration and discussions with the Habitat Board, we have decided to cancel the 2008 Habitat Community picnic at Shelburne farms. We had been hoping that we could round up enough people for the committee to run the event this year but we haven’t been able to do that, and felt it was necessary to cancel the event. The ramp up for the 5 house building project in Milton has stretched our resources to the limits, and has unfortunately taken time away from some other important events and activities like the Picnic. The Milton Neighborhood is the largest project we have ever taken on, and fundraising is even more important than ever. Unfortunately we were not able to manage everything we would like to this year. Your support of this event in the past has helped us successfully raise critical funds and do outreach to the community. Your support has helped us make a difference to local families in need, and I am very grateful to you. Our every intention is to have a community picnic in 2009, because the event was a big success in all areas last year. Thank you for your understanding and support. |
