What is the Congregation Relations Committee? | Print |  E-mail

Congregation Relations Committee

Habitat For Humanity’s goal of building decent and affordable houses with and for all of God’s people of modest means is a mission of faith working with congregations throughout the world. An Affiliate’s Congregation Relations Committee seeks to establish and nurture a close working relationship between the Affiliate and the faith communities in its geographic area to accomplish that goal.

Members of the Committee provide congregations with information that educates and stimulates actions that result in building good homes in partnership with families that would otherwise not be able to afford them.

Interested in joining the Congregation Relations Committee?

A member can contribute to the work of the Committee by being able to:

1. Approach individuals about involving their congregations in Habitat’s work.

2. Support leaders of congregations with promotional materials, make presentations to church groups, answer questions and offer encouragement to congregational leaders.

Committee members can be persons who are clergy, laity, homeowners, and members of church mission committees.
