This marks the kickoff of the Green Mountain Habitat for Humanity’s BLOG!! Welcome! We’re glad you’ve come to check on us. We will be building 3 houses in Vermont in 2009. The frame work for the Milton houses was started at the Burlington High School Technical Center on May 2nd.
Four volunteers and this blogger got together to complete the task. Coached by BHS Wood Shop instructor Mike Welch, the volunteers unloaded, cut, and nailed the 2x6 and 2x12 beams. The finished products included 5 completed door and window frames, ready to be used in the Lowe’s Women Build wall construction in May. ![]() ![]() The construction of a house starts with the fabrication of its pieces. Among those pieces are the very walls themselves – and all the parts within. Among those parts, perhaps the most important are the frames which will house all of the doors & windows of the house.
Stay tuned for the next Blog article, about Lowe’s Women Build 2009 May 9th! Remember to check out Green Mountain Habitat for Humanity’s volunteer schedule at http://greenmountainhfh.volunteerhub.com/Events/Browse.aspx.
