3 Kids Playing BadmittonSet against the gorgeous Shelburne Farms backdrop, people young and old emerged from the community to celebrate how Green Mountain Habitat for Humanity builds homes and changes lives.

Picnic blankets, lawn chairs, croquet and badminton were all great ways to enjoy the cool air breezing through the picnic area from a serene Lake Champlain. For those looking to escape onto the lake, free canoe rentals were available from Canoe Imports.

National Women Build Week a success! | Print |  E-mail

In the days leading up to Mother’s Day 2009, more than 7,000 women volunteers, including recording artist Trisha Yearwood, pounded nails and raised walls at more than 200 Habitat for Humanity construction sites throughout the United States. The pre-Mother’s Day activities were part of Habitat’s second annual National Women Build Week, May 2–10, sponsored by Lowe’s.

This marks the kickoff of the Green Mountain Habitat for Humanity’s BLOG!! Welcome! We’re glad you’ve come to check on us.

We will be building 3 houses in Vermont in 2009.  The frame work for the Milton houses was started at the Burlington High School Technical Center on May 2nd.
